A return to a familiar spot and then another stop somewhere I can’t remember ever visiting before. St Mary’s Lighthouse near Whitley Bay is one of those iconic locations; here (apart from grabbing a shot of the seals, basking in the early-spring sun) I tried to get a pin-sharp front to back image of the lighthouse using the polarising filter to cut-down the reflection from the water in the foreground. I’m reasonably pleased with the technical outcome, but we have a much better photograph hanging in our kitchen that wasn’t taken by me!
Then a stopover in Warkworth on our journey north because I just HAD to take a picture of the daffodils around the keep of the castle. They were stunning. A bit of transformation applied in Lightroom to straighten the walls. I’ve now learnt a new technique for doing this which makes it even easier!!!!
