Jenny was driving as we headed south on the A449 towards Newport. We both commented that it looked as though there was going to be a good sunset and she asked if I wanted to stop. Well … the side of a dual-carriageway is not the most conducive and photogenic spot to try and take a photograph but I remembered there to be a lay-by set above the road just before the climb up towards The Celtic Manor golf course and I asked her to stop there. The result was that I was able to take a few pictures as the sun went down looking over the top of the road with the sound of the traffic in my ears, my hands freezing from the cold, but with an almost completely uninterrupted view westwards, and the time and the safe position to wait and take the pictures I wanted. They’re not spectacular, but they are a “moment like these …”.
