I’ve been meaning to find the time to experiment with using graduated filters in Lightroom – effectively the ability to apply different effects to different parts of the image. In these two shots of the Vale of Ewyas one filter is applied to the sky with a dehaze effect to bring out some blue in the sky, whilst another is applied to the foreground to lift the shadows. In the stitched panorama below increased clarity is also applied to the foreground. I’m not going to show you the original images – I know someone who’ll say … “it’s cheating”; my riposte … “it’s software painting”.
