This time after doing the crop to straighten the horizon and centre the piece of driftwood, I did an exercise with the clarity, vibrance and saturation sliders in Lightroom. I’ve done this on several images in the past, but this time I tried every possible combination of them set to their maximum settings to see just how an image would change. I then scaled the settings back to get the final image – the one above – which I feel lifts the image and makes it that much sharper.
Many folk don’t like “altering” what’s in the camera. I don’t have any qualms about doing so, if the result is a more interesting image. What do you think?
