I really like Sudbrook (where the pumping station for the Severn Rail Tunnel resides – and where there’s a splendid little museum that documents the story of it being constructed against all the odds) and Black Rock (where the original crossing for railways by ferry across the Severn was located) and where these shots were taken. Both locations give a wonderful view of the second Severn crossing – a magnificent bridge … even if its naming doesn’t meet with the full approval of the Welsh people.
This image taken in colour and changed to B&W showcases the amazing cloudscapes you often see over the estuary. This image was one of the first I printed with my new Epson ET8550 printer. It’s taken with my 55mm F1.8 lens and polarising filter – sitting on a tripod, at ISO 100; 1/250sec and f/8.0.
