Goosenecks

I was, and I still am, a geographer and a geomorphologist at heart even after all the years away from my “practising” days. Before we left for Utah, I knew I wanted to go and see Goosenecks. For those in the know, it’s one of those classic Leopold, Wolman and Miller – Fluvial Processes in Geomorphology – locations.

Anyway, given the advent of digital photography and post-processing, I was able to take away some of the distortions caused by the wide-angle lens I had used to take this shot, adjust the horizon to be horizontal – always helps, and adjust the colours as well. The natural landscape … I didn’t change a jot – a deeply incised meander.
